If you've seen what you can build with Formaloo, you already know the range — from simple intake forms to full operational flows with portals, assignments, automations, AI personalization and analysis, layered in gently. This article is about how to actually get there.
Option 1: Start from a template
Formaloo template library has hundreds of templates spanning a wide range of use cases — individual forms and surveys, full internal apps, client portals, and complete workflow templates that already include logic and email/PDF templates.
The library covers both common workflows and more specific, niche scenarios drawn from real-world use cases, and it's the fastest way to get to something functional:

When browsing, you can Preview any template before committing,
When you find one you like, click Use template to copy it to your Formaloo workspace in seconds,
Tweak it however you need: add fields to the form, add additional forms to the project, or fine-tune the logic and automations already built in.
Option 2: Describe your form to AI in plain English (or upload a file)
If you'd rather have AI build the form for you, Magic Create lets you do exactly that — describe what you need in plain English, or hand it a file, and it generates the form structure for you.
Find the Magic Create button at the top right of your dashboard:
➔ Turn any file into a form
Upload a PDF, PNG, JPEG or other file — and AI extracts the fields automatically, recreating the structure as a Formaloo form. Useful when you already have a form on paper, in a document, or as a screenshot — drop the file and get a digital version in seconds.
➔ Describe your form in plain English
Tell AI what your form should do, share a list of fields, or describe the use case, and it generates the form from your description. Something like "a supplier onboarding form with sections for company details, contact info, and document uploads" is enough to get a solid starting point.
Either way, you get a form you can edit, refine, and build on.
💡 Once your form is ready, use Magic Logic to set up conditional logic by describing it in plain English, and Magic Design to style the look.
Option 3: Start from a blank form — and build from there
To start from scratch, click +New at the top right of your dashboard and select Form:
From there, you can:
Add any fields you need for your flow,
Create custom ending pages,
Layer in logic and automations,
Set up email notifications or PDF generation,
Design & brand your form,
and many more!
ℹ️ Creating a form creates a project
When you create a new form in Formaloo, the platform automatically sets up a project around it with two default pages:
A Responses page — with the form and a connected table showing all submissions
A Charts & insights page — with basic charts automatically connected to your form data
You land directly in the form editor where you can add any fields, and adjust any form's settings and automations.
Which starting point is right for you?
🎨 Templates — when your use case is common and you want a running start. Fastest path if the template is close enough to what you need.
🪄 Magic Create — when you have a clear idea of a single form and want AI to handle the initial build. Also useful when you're recreating an existing form from a file.
📋 From scratch — gives you full visibility into how every piece was set up, which makes it easy to expand and adjust as you go.
From a form, you can build anything – an app, a portal, or a flow
Once your form is set up, the project is the canvas for everything else. You can grow it step by step, adding any new components your flow needs.
