How to set a workspace timezone

Set a timezone for your workspace so all system-generated timestamps display correctly for your organization.

Updated this week

Why this matters

System timestamps appear across your workspace, in data blocks, activity logs, user records, filters, and generated PDFs. If they don’t match your organization’s real-world timezone, it can create confusion in reporting, audits, and day-to-day operations.

Setting a workspace timezone ensures:

  • Accurate Created at and Updated at values

  • Correct filter results

  • Clear activity logs

  • Consistent PDF timestamps

  • No “off-by-one day” errors

How to set the workspace timezone

  1. Open your Workspace settings.

  2. Locate the Timezone section.

  3. Select your preferred timezone (for example, (GMT +1) Europe/Berlin).

  4. Click Save changes.

The change is applied immediately across the entire workspace.

What happens if no timezone is set

If no workspace timezone is configured, system-generated timestamps will be displayed based on each team member’s device timezone.

This means different users may see different timestamps for the same event.

What changes when you set a timezone

Once a workspace timezone is selected, all system-generated timestamps follow that timezone.

This includes:

  • Created at

  • Updated at

  • Activity logs

  • User directory timestamps

  • Generated PDF timestamps

  • Timestamp-based filters

  • All data block views (Table, Kanban, Gallery)

All members of the workspace will see the same timezone-adjusted timestamps.

Timestamps are displayed in full datetime format:

YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM

What does NOT change

The workspace timezone does not affect user-entered date and/or time values.

It does not change:

  • Date fields

  • Date & time fields

  • Due date fields

  • Any user-entered values

  • Database storage (timestamps remain stored in UTC)

Only system-generated timestamps inside the dashboard are adjusted for display and filtering.

If a timezone is set on the workspace, there wouldn't be any per-user timezone settings, and the timezone applies to the entire workspace and all users.

ℹ️ Workspace timezone does not affect how form respondents see date, time, or datetime fields. It only affects timestamps generated by the system inside the dashboard.

Manage timezone accuracy across your workspace

If you change the workspace timezone later, timestamps will immediately update to reflect the new timezone.

This update does not modify any stored data; it only changes how timestamps are displayed.
