Can I localize my survey or form to French or another language?

Tips on localizing your surveys or forms and their content into other languages, and managing multiple language copies in Formaloo.

Updated this week

1: How to change your survey or form language

  • Open your form in the Form Editor, and in the form settings, switch the default form language to one of the supported languages from the list. This will localize all default placeholder texts and system messages.

2: How to customize the survey or form content

  • You can customize all content inside the form itself – including field titles, descriptions, options, default values, and other text elements – to match the selected form language.

3: What if the language you need is not on the list?

4: Can a single survey or form be multilingual?

  • At this time, a single form cannot be multilingual. To create multiple language versions – duplicate your project, set the language individually for each copy, and customize each form as needed. Responses for each form copy will be collected in individual databases as well.

5: How to let respondents choose their preferred language

You can build a separate routing form with a single-choice question that asks respondents for their preferred language. Then, use Advanced Logic to set up conditional redirection rules, for example:

  • IF What language do you prefer? IS English → THEN redirect to the URL of your English form,

  • IF What language do you prefer? IS French → THEN redirect to the URL of your French form.

This routes respondents to the correct localized form based on their selected preferred language.
