Importing users into your Formaloo portal allows you to manage access efficiently and ensure a seamless experience for your audience.

This guide walks you through enabling the user portal and importing users from an external source.

Step 1: Enable the user portal

Before importing users, you need to enable the User Portal in your app.

  1. Open your app settings by clicking on Settings in the top-right corner.

  2. Locate the User Portal option.

  3. Click Enable Portal to activate it.

Once enabled, you can manage users and set up authentication options.

Step 2: Access the Manage users section

After enabling the User Portal, you will see a Manage Users button. Click on it to access the user management area.

Step 3: Open the Setup wizard

  1. Inside Manage users, click on Setup wizard to configure your user portal.

  2. You will be given three options to set up your user base:

    • Create a new user base: Generates a new database where all new users will be stored.

    • Import users: Allows you to upload an external list of users.

    • Select an existing base: Uses an already existing user database in your Formaloo account.

To import users, choose the Import Users option.

Step 4: Download the example file

To ensure a smooth import, Formaloo provides an example file that you can download and format correctly.

  1. Click on the Download file here to get a template.

  2. Open the file and enter your users' details in the provided format.

  3. Save the file once you've added all user information.

Step 5: Upload the user file

  1. Click Upload File and select the modified example file.

  2. Review the data and confirm the import.

  3. Once uploaded, users will be added to the portal and can log in using their credentials.

Step 6: Manage imported users

After importing, you can:

  • Assign roles and permissions.

  • Enable or disable specific user access.

  • Track user activity and manage accounts within the portal settings.

By following these steps, you can efficiently import users into your portal, making it easier to manage and provide access to the right audience.
